Road trips can be a great way to travel if you like driving. There's just something great about driving through the US on the American roads.

The U.S. is a magnificent country to go on a road trip. There is an incredible number of good opportunities for routes in the U.S. because the country is so large, which means that almost no matter what, you will be able to see different kinds of landscapes depending on where in the country you end up driving. 

One of the most interesting things about the U.S. is that the landscape changes almost as soon as you cross the border into a new state.

California, Nevada, Arizona - Western US

Location: California, Nevada, Arizona

Distance: 2875 kilometers (1787 miles)

Duration: 12-14 days

Period: June – September (due to cold weather in some places during winter)

Offering close to 3000 kilometers of stunning views across California, Arizona, and Nevada, this West Coast road trip definitely has what it takes to be the perfect road trip.

Chicago to Los Angeles - Route 66

Location: Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California

Distance: 3940 kilometers (2448 miles)

Duration: 7-11 days

Period: June – September

Route 66 is something most people have heard of at some point. A legendary road through the majority of the U.S. that over the years has become a kind of tourist attraction for many people, which is also understandable as it is a truly scenic route where you get to see many of America’s many different landscapes.

On the trip, there are many options, but it is a recommendation at least to take a journey past the following locations:

Although you can’t drive the entire trip on the original Route 66, you can still ride a large part of it as much of Route 66 has been preserved.

New York City to Miami - East Coast

Location: New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida

Duration: 7-11 days

Period: All year

This road trip is definitely the term for a city break road trip. Starting in probably the greatest of them all, New York City, and ending in perhaps the warmest of them all, Miami, Florida.
