A very welcoming and warm city - both when it comes to temperature and people's hospitality. Breathtaking beaches all over the city with crystal clear water and amazing views. Shopping in the city is especially cheap in the sale seasons.
Palma de Mallorca is the capital of the Mallorca island in Spain. A city with palms, cactuses, orange trees, and flower bushes on the sideroads. Real summer with pretty high temperatures, where surrounded by the kindness and hospitality of Spanish people, you feel welcome and at home.
Come with me on this exciting trip and find out what you can do and visit in Palma de Mallorca.
There are many astonishing buildings known for their architecture and amazing looks. Speaking about the Cathedral of Mallorca, it is a grandiose building, which is as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. It is a place that you cannot simply ignore, it also is placed in the capital center which is another reason for that besides its charm and popularity.

I have listed many beaches that you can go to since each of them is special and breathtaking. Mallorca is one of the places that made me want to visit at least one beach every day. I cannot describe in words the beauty that you are to see if you visit any of them. If you manage to go early in the morning, you might be lucky to be the only one on the beach and have the entire beauty for yourself only.
If you just want to take a walk through Mallorca I recommend that you do that in parks from Mallorca, some of them could be Marivent garden or S'Hort del Rey, which have a stunning view.
Nature In Mallorca, in general, is extremely colorful and sends you a tropical vibe that motivates you to see more places.
Of course, as in any other destination, you would want to visit some historic places. One of the most fascinating for me was the Military museum, due to the variety of astonishing exhibits that reflect the past. Moreover, there was this nice cafe right next to it with a great view of the sea. And the best part is that access to the museum is free of charge.
Other than that, the AHOY art gallery has some very unique pieces of art, which got me to analyze them for minutes.
An indescribable experience was at Cuevas del Drach, it is like a little trip on a small boat in the caves, such a great view that I haven’t seen in any other place. It feels like you’re in a fairytale.
You may also want o visit the Palma Aquarium, which besides the indoor aquarium, also has an outdoor area with a jungle vibe. It might not be as big as in other cities, but it is definitely worth visiting.
And of course, since Mallorca is an island, it couldn’t get around without seaports, which are always great to see.
You will never get bored in Mallorca if you know where to go and what to do. I gathered for you some activity ideas that could be fun to do.
Considering that it is an island you could see a wonderful sight by deciding to rent a boat with your friends and spend quality time in a good company of people with a view. Other than that, there are multiple other activities that you can perform in a small company such as riding horses, getting a ride on a jet ski, fly board, zip lines, or even a helicopter if your budget allows. You also have the opportunity to understand Spain’s culture by visiting a Flamenco spectacle or taking cooking classes.
Overall, interacting with Spanish people will help you understand their culture, way of living, and approach to life.
I recommend you go to any of these two places for grocery shopping, the taste of the fruits and vegetables is so authentic and simply delicious.
Other than that, the most popular supermarkets there are Carrefour, Lidl, Mercadona, and Müller which is more like a German store with lots of candy, cosmetics, and other stuff.
When it comes to shopping, if you get there in a sale season which in the summer is somewhere in the midst of July – August, you will be able to find some really good prices on clothes especially. Some shopping centers that you could go to for shopping are Fan, Portopi, and El Corte Ingles. However, you could also go to pedestrian streets like Passeig des Born and Avenida Jaime III, which offer you a variety of stores, bars, and restaurants.
My time on the island has been unforgettable, the temperature, the people, the places, and the life there is so amazing. It is a place that I wish I visited more often, and I am convinced will.
Just remember that it depends on you how you will spend your days in Mallorca. Make sure you plan your trip ahead every time so that you make the most out of it when you get there. Now all you have to do is just create your own trip list and add some of the ideas you resonated with in your own list.
