The city

Paris is one of the most astonishing cities there are. It is a city that any time you revisit you have what to do and see and never get tired of it. The vibe the city transmits is definitely one that makes you fall in love with the city instantly no doubt.

I tried to include in this trip-list some of the most important and must-visit places that you should not miss. I hope you enjoy the selection and find it useful.

Museums

Paris is rich in museums and by that, I mean good ones. You can't visit Paris without seeing the Louvre or any other museum that hides a deep history.

One of the most visited museums in Paris is, of course, Louvre - the world's largest museum, mainly due to the one and only Mona Lisa painting. It has a 73.000-square-meter exhibition area with paintings and art artifacts on show, as well as large rooms packed with sculptures. Even in a week, seeing the complete collection is difficult, which is one of the reasons why a week in Paris is not enough.

Most tourists need some guidance in order to fully enjoy the art and the country's rich cultural history.

Another well-known museum is the Atelier des Lumiéres, a one-of-a-kind art institution that showcases historic works in an immersive music and video-accompanied displays. The projections are extended from the floors to the ceilings and over walls up to 10 m high.

A third museum that is quite impressive is called Petit Palais. It is that type of museum with modern exhibitions as well as ancient art. Priceless masterpieces in ivory, tapestry, metalwork, jewelry and porcelain acquired from the most significant collections of France are on display at the Petit Palais' inner gallery. The outer gallery hosts a collection of royal French furniture.

These are only some of Paris' treasures. There are many other museums that deserve your attention, most of them have a brief description of the museum's concept in the description under each idea below.

Attractions

You may already know that the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland are two of the symbols that Paris is known for. Therefore, I would like to draw your attention to some places that aren't so famous for us tourists.

Paris' Zoo is by far one of the best in Europe! The walk from the Metro station is a bit of a hike, but it takes you through a lovely park where you could watch Parisians enjoying themselves. It's well-kept, clean, and has a great variety of animals. The tropical environment was especially spectacular, they brought the jungle to the city in a literal sense. There's also a dome for animals from temperate regions. Moreover, the temperature is regulated for animals' normal habitat. You'll be astounded by the number of animals the zoo hosts. This tour will need a full day of your time, so choose a day when the weather is nice for a more enjoyable stroll.

On a wet or cold day in Paris, the Botanical Garden is the ideal spot to spend a few hours. The glasshouses are wonderful and cozy, with magnificent plants from all over the world. Although the gardens are not very outstanding, they are well-maintained and highly enjoyable. It's free, and it's incredibly peaceful and lovely. Little less known places as these gardens, provide unforgettable experiences especially if shared with a special person. A really great aspect of this is that there aren't many tourists or visitors at all. It gives a nice, relaxed, and unique feeling when on your little walk.

The Palace of Versailles is a beautiful and well-preserved space for anyone. If you are visiting it in the winter, you might get lucky since the crowds are half less than it is usually in the hot season. However, I strongly advise purchasing a ticket in advance to avoid being stuck in a big line. Plan on spending at least 2 hours there just to walk around and discover fantastic photo locations. If you walk, it will take you an entire day to see all of the gardens, so if you desire to see it all, you might want to rent an electric car for about 36 euros for 30 minutes. The palace is about 20 km from the city center. Take an entire day, if you want to relax and enjoy this place, otherwise, it will take at least 4-5 hours.

Mosquée de Paris is a hidden gem of Paris. The entrance cost for adults is only 3€, and it is well worth it. The interior garden is wonderful, and it looks very much like Morocco. On the other side of the entryway is a great coffee shop with baked products - so delicious. Keep in mind that Fridays are really busy and Saturdays are ladies-only days.

Of course, there are way more wonderful places to see, you can find out more about them in the ideas below together with a description for each.

Food & Restaurants

The food in Paris is a separate subject - it is simply delicious. Here I have prepared for you some great restaurants and cafes for all three meals.

The prices for food in an eat-in restaurant are higher than average. However non-touristy restaurants in Paris would charge between 15 and 25 euros per set menu, whilst in tourist nearby areas the prices per portion are higher. Overall, as in any other place, it depends on what you order.
