The Golden Circle

The Golden Circle is Iceland's most famous scenic route, taking in beautiful views and historic sites in a circular trip. With its proximity to Reykjavík and the airport and short travel between landmarks, the Golden Circle tour makes it simple to access for everybody.

Iceland's most breathtaking geological wonders await you on the Golden Circle, whether you spend one or several days there!

Highlights

Gullfoss, a stunning two-tiered waterfall in Iceland, plunges into a steep canyon on the Hvítá River. Its force, beauty, and rainbows make it a must-see natural phenomenon. At the Geysir Geothermal Area, the Strokkur geyser periodically erupts with scalding water. The original Geysir gave its name to all geysers worldwide.

Þingvellir National Park, also known as Thingvellir National Park, is a place of both historical and geological significance in Iceland. In 930 AD, Iceland's Alþingi (national assembly) was created in Þingvellir, known as the "Parliament Plains," making it one of the world's oldest parliaments.

Kerið, a volcanic crater lake in Iceland, features breathtaking red granite cliffs and blue water below. It's a stunning natural feature that facilitates crater rim walks.
